Dr. Lin graduated Summa Cum Laude in Chemistry at the University of Southern California in 1996 and received her M.D. degree from UCLA in 2000.  During this time, she received letters of distinction in Psychiatry, Doctoring III, Psychopathology and Medical Genetics.  She received her medical training from UCLA in the Internal Medicine Residency (2000-2003), Chief Resident/Clinical Instructor in Internal Medicine (2003-2004), and the Endocrine Fellowship in the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes and Hypertension (2003-2006). 

 

Dr. Lin collaborated with Dr. Michael Bryer-Ash, M.D. in the insulin resistance atherosclerosis study (IRAS-II Family Study).  She was involved in several research studies at UCLA and USC: 1) investigation of cancer screening, attitudes, beliefs, and rates among the homeless adults living in Los Angeles County; 2) characterization of genes regulated by GH and IGF-1 and identification specific nuclear effects of these hormones, such as cellular adaptations for growth; and 3) synthesis of a-keto phosphonates and a-keto bisphosphonates, which are both potential drugs for AIDS-related diseases.
